The day has finally arrived!!! I am now a published author :) Woo Hoo!!! I want to scream it from the rooftops. I'm so excited to share Lexie and Van's story with the world. It's all pretty surreal for me at this moment, but it's definitely a cause for celebration. Why not celebrate like rock stars (don't worry, no groupies are involved)?

As you can tell, I love music and over the years I've attended many concerts. The roar of the crowd, the bone-rattling drum beats, the guitar chords resonating through your body, and the melodic tones of a voice you love. There's nothing like experiencing a live show. To celebrate Blissful Tragedy release day, I want to know how you rock out at a concert.

When I was 14 years old ,myself and 3 friends ran away to attend a concert. It was Woodstock. Best 2 weeks ever and worth every bit of the punishment I received from my Mom when I got home!!

My craziest concert adventure was when my sister took me to a Who concert in Philadelphia. I told her between the smell of pot and linament I didn't know which was worse! I was joking about the linament however there were more people eligible for AARP there than you could shake a stick at! After the concert we got lost in inner city and I thought for sure we would become statistics! We made it home several hours later. Needless to say it was a day off the next day!

My craziest concert was by far my first one when I was 17. My friends and I had gotten tickets to see Linkin Park in Camden, NJ. We took the train into Philly and then had to take a connection train into Camden. Once we got into Camden we had to walk a mile too the stadium, if you've ever been to Camden then you know its not the place 6 young teenagers walk through alone. The opener for the concert was Incubus, and I have to admit they absolutely sucked. Finally Linkin Park finally came on stage and our seats were in the front section. What a view we had as we could feel the heat of the fire and explosions on stage. By the end of the concert our ears were ringing and we couldn't here a thing. We walked outside to go back to the train station and it was pouring rain so we started running the mile back to the station through these dark unlit alleys and we really had no idea where we were going. Finally we all somehow made it back to the station, and we are walking down the steps into the station when my friend decides he doesn't want the change in his pocket anymore and throws it over the railing hitting a man who was asleep under them and waking him. Needless to say we didn't stick around to see what would happen and we bolted to get on the train which we did. Finally we arrived back at my friends house sometime after midnight and ate bagel bites and watched Flash Gordon. Now that was a night to remember!!

My husband David Peppi is a musician and a composer… He plays keyboards. People that know us know that we met each other through music… When he was in his twenties, he used to play in the band Natural Reaction in New Jersey… Unfortunately, by the time we met, he was out of playing in the band, so I have never really seen him playing live at a concert until 2 years ago… One of the band members, the drummer Joe DeSarno, passed away… All of the members of Natural Reaction and many other bands from New Jersey that knew Joe, got together in February of 2012 for a big concert in Joe’s Memory. For me that also meant that I got the opportunity to see my husband playing live in a band… I got to be in the very front and I had my camcorder and recorded video of every band that was performing that day… Well, almost every band! My camcorder did not survive the long hours of recording and in addition to that, the camcorder was not made to record in such a loud environment… So right before my husband’s band was about to start playing, I realized that my camcorder was breaking and it kept shutting down every couple of minutes… It was so upsetting and I was so frustrated that I was going to miss recording all of the songs that Natural Reaction was about to play… And how was I going to tell my husband and his friends that I recorded every other band before them, but I wasn’t going to show them the video of their performance… Well, at least I still have managed to record the rehearsal…

When I was 20, I went to a Def Leppard concert at the Harvey's Lake Amphitheater. My favorite band at the time (and still a favorite) was the beautiful men who call themselves Def Leppard... The date of the concert was August 1st, which also happened to be the birthday of lead singer, Joe Elliot. I decided to spray paint a birthday wish on a bed sheet and hold it up for him to see during the concert. This was truly going to be the best concert I ever attended... When we arrived at the concert we wanted to get as close to the stage as possible. However, due to the type of tickets we had, we realized our ability to do so would be limited ... As we presented our tickets to get in, we heard someone yelling at us. It happened to be a male friend of one of my friends who was working at the concert...putting her "skills" to good use, she charmed him into getting us into "gold circle seating"... This meant I could get as close to the stage as possible and feel the rain of their sweat as I sang every lyric to every song they would play. Yes!!! With my birthday wish to my what I wished to be my future husband on a bed sheet, I was ready to rock!! After the opening act, the sun had just begun to set... The stage lights were glowing... The summer air was warm.. The crowd was loud.. And then they emerged .... (insert heavenly choir singing)...
I sang, screamed, jumped up and down.. A true rock concert work out. After they were rocking the house for about 30 minutes and swooning the crowd in between (where they announced that it was his birthday and we all sang happy birthday to him), I decided then it was time for my big reveal. I whipped the sheet out from under my shirt and handed one end to a friend ... On cue, we held it as high as we could and the next song began (during the famous "Pour Some Sugar On Me"). We were about three standing rows in front of the stage. I see Joe glance over... Then I see him look again and point... To us.. To me ... To my sign !!!! He looked back to the radiant Rick Savage (the bass player) and directs HIS attention to MY sign !!! And Rick gives an approving nod!!!!!! Holy crap !!!!!! They noticed ... They approved!!!!!!...my mission was complete!!
... As the song ended, I put my aching arms down.. Rolled up my sign ... And cried with happiness... The next song began to play.. My favorite Def Leppard song EVER !!! "Bringin' on the Heartbreak" !!! I hear Joe singing the beginning... "Gypsy....." and then my best life experience to that point in my life began to crumble... I started to cry... Not a few tears ..Full, absolute hysteria (no Def Leppard pun intented).....my legs went numb, my ears arms were tingling, I was red hot, I couldn't hear well... I was fainting !!! Within about 4 minutes (the length of the song), I found myself at the back gate ... The BACK gate and next to a sweaty ambulance woman... It was over ... I was devastated .... My dedicated friends were standing next to me... After several minutes and a little cooling off, I was free to go ... As we walked back towards the concert, I realized it was ok to have such a crap ending to the best day... I had a mission.. And I completed it... Joe AND Rick noticed my hard work... Without a spoken word they communicated to me (even if it meant that I became emotionally overloaded).... I was happy, even if I went from the 3rd row to the 103rd row...
